Updated: May 2

A CV is the first impression a recruiter will have of you so in the very competitive market that we are in today, having a well-crafted CV is crucial to make a positive first impression on potential employers. Here are the essential tips to retain to have the perfect CV.

Structure your CV for Success

Your CV must be structured in such a way that recruiters will easily understand your education, work experience, skills, achievements, and any additional information that is relevant to the role you're applying for. Don't forget to always put the most recent information first.

Tailor your CV to the Job

To maximise your chances of success, customise your CV for each job application. Study the job description carefully and identify the key skills and requirements sought by the employer.

Highlight Relevant Skills

Relevant hard skills (technical proficiencies) and soft skills (communication, leadership, problem-solving) should be added in your CV.

Include Contact Details

Provide your updated contact information at the top of your CV, including your full name, phone number, email address, and Linkedln profile link (if applicable).

Update and Refresh Regularly

Updating your CV is something you should do every 6 months as it will allow you to reflect your most recent achievements and experiences. You can still do it even if you are not looking for a job at the moment.
